MP35N® stands as a multi-phase alloy marvel, masterfully blending Nickel, Cobalt, Chromium, and Molybdenum to bestow an extraordinary spectrum of features. It boasts ultra-high strength, formidable toughness, exceptional biocompatibility, and outstanding corrosion resistance. This alloy is artfully crafted through vacuum induction melting and vacuum arc re-melting (VIM-VAR), followed by strength enhancement via work hardening and aging. These sophisticated processes yield an impressive hardness of up to 55-60 Rockwell C and remarkable strength levels reaching 260-300KSI.

Thanks to this unparalleled property synergy, MP35N® finds its niche in a multitude of industries, including oil and gas, aerospace, and the medical field. It remains impervious to embrittlement even at cryogenic temperatures, and its properties endure steadfastly up to 600°F. This makes it an ideal candidate for medical implants and orthodontic/prosthetic devices.

MP35N® demonstrates a formidable resistance to corrosion, triumphing against most mineral acids, hydrogen sulfide, and seawater environments. Its prowess extends to excellent stress corrosion cracking resistance and hydrogen embrittlement prevention, even at elevated strength levels. According to NACE MR0175, it allows for a hardness of up to 51 HRC for materials that have undergone work strengthening and aging by one of the outlined processes below.

Aircraft Materials is proud to offer MP35N® in round bar form, meticulously certified to either AMS 5844 (ranging from 0.270" to 1.520" diameter) or NACE MR0175 (from 0.5" to 2.5" diameter). Additionally, we provide sheet, strip, and plate options ideally suited for medical applications.
