This alloy exhibits an impressive spectrum of properties, including ultra-high strength, remarkable toughness, superior biocompatibility, and outstanding corrosion resistance. Its production involves the sophisticated processes of vacuum induction melting and vacuum arc re-melting (VIM-VAR), followed by work hardening and aging techniques. This process achieves noteworthy hardness levels of 55-60 Rockwell C and formidable strength levels reaching 260-300KSI.

Thanks to this unparalleled combination of characteristics, MP35N® finds versatile applications across diverse industries such as oil and gas, aerospace, and the medical field. It remains effectively functional at cryogenic temperatures without succumbing to embrittlement. Moreover, it retains its optimal properties at elevated temperatures up to 600°F. MP35N® is not only ideal for use in medical implants but also perfectly suited for orthodontic and prosthetic devices.

MP35N® demonstrates remarkable resilience against corrosion in a variety of challenging environments, including most mineral acids, hydrogen sulfide, and seawater. It excels in resisting stress corrosion cracking and hydrogen embrittlement, even at elevated strength levels. The NACE MR0175 standard approves a hardness of up to 51 HRC for materials that undergo work strengthening and aging according to the processes detailed in the subsequent table.
